JSC Volga has implemented the management system under the standard ISO 9001:2015
The vertically integrated timber company has passed the procedure of voluntary certification with flying colors and received a certificate (valid up to 26th January, 2024) confirming its compliance with the requirements of international standard ISO 9001:2015. The company’s compliance with this standard serves as a confirmation of the high quality of the enterprise management as well as becomes a significant advantage in the eyes of customers.
The implementation of the quality management system (QMS) is a strategic decision on the company’s part, which is bound to help establish a solid foundation for further sustainable development.
QMS is a system of production organization that creates the necessary conditions for ensuring the stable quality of products, increasing the productivity and meeting the clients’ requirements. QMS enables a flexible reaction to the clients’ rapidly developing requirements and the production of goods that will be competitive in the market.
It took 1,5 years to introduce the international requirements and prepare for the certification
“The preparatory work for the QMS certification began in October, 2019,” said Svetlana Guryleva, Head of Laboratory and Technical Control and Quality Department of JSC Volga. “Since the company was introducing the quality management system for the first time, the consulting company “Professional-consult”, LTD was involved to help with the certification. In order to understand the requirements of the standard ISO 9001:2015, a training session for the company's management and heads of departments was organized and conducted.”
As Svetlana Guryleva noted, at JSC Volga a Quality Policy was developed, Quality Objectives were set, the main QMS processes were defined, a Quality Manual and basic documented procedures were developed, as well as process maps.
The certification audit was conducted remotely in 2 stages due to the the current epidemiological situation in the country. Following its results, the auditor acknowledged the staff’s demonstration of great competence and motivation to achieve positive audit results. The successful completion of certification was the result of a great work done by the JSC Volga managers and specialists to align the management system with the standard ISO 9001:2015.
The certificate issued after the preparation of the audit report and its verification by the certification body JSC Bureau Veritas Certification Rus is valid for 3 years and must be confirmed annually for compliance with the requirements of the standard ISO 9001:2015.
