The Volga's sales, production and procurement departments participated in PulpFor-2023, an international exhibition of equipment and technologies for pulp and paper, wood processing and packaging industries, which took place in St. Petersburg from 14 to 16 November 2023.

Sergey Pondar, the Volga’s General Director, spoke about the Company's development vector and plans to increase production of packaging papers at the strategic session "State and Business: Joint Solutions for Pulp and Paper and Timber Processing Industry".

As Sergey Pondar specified, in the current year, the production volumes will remain at the level of 2022 and will amount to about 312,000 tons, and in 2024 the increase will be 10%.

"Consumption of lightweight linerboard is growing due to the development of e-commerce, increasing the number of online orders. Thus, new niches are opening up for companies that produce newsprint, such as JSC Volga," - Sergey Pondar added.

The programme also discussed the development of the pulp and paper industry, improvement of the legislative framework, provision of state support to enterprises and staffing of the industry.

Dmitry Spitsin, the Volga's Chief Technologist, took part in the session "Time for Innovation, Priorities for Technological Modernization of the Industry", gave a report and discussed the technical and technological needs of the pulp and paper industry, as well as trends and new technologies to improve the operational efficiency of enterprises.

Dmitry Krivoruchenko, the Deputy General Director for Sales, shared his impressions of participating in the exhibition: "We held dozens of negotiations and meetings with customers, discussed important industry topics with our colleagues: how companies have adapted to new circumstances, in what areas the import substitution strategy is being implemented, how sales markets and the geography of suppliers have changed, what support measures companies expect from government authorities, what technological changes are being introduced. They also discussed the development of the corrugated packaging market and future deliveries of tare types of paper produced on PM No. 6 in 2024.

The Sales Department takes part in this exhibition every year, as it is interesting for us from the point of view of opportunities for product promotion, conclusion of new contracts and exchange of opinions with key partners and customers.

"JSC Volga specializes in the production of lightweight and ultra-lightweight containerboard from 42 gsm to 120 gsm. This differentiates our Company from most of our competitors, allowing us to offer the best solutions to our customers and stay on trend.»

It is worth noting that the PulpFor Awards 2023 ceremony was held as part of the forum on 15 November 2023, with JSC Volga being one of the nominees.

The best pulp and paper mills, producers of cardboard, packaging, corrugated products, as well as manufacturers and suppliers of equipment and services received awards for their successful contribution to the development of the pulp and paper industry in Russia and the CIS.

JSC Volga received a special diploma and a prize - a branded watch - from MediaWood for its active and regular presence in the information field and PR-activity.
