The sixth “Kommersant of the Year” award ceremony, organized by Ъ-Privolzhye editorial office, took place in Nizhny Novgorod on April 26. The winners are the companies, which have shown outstanding results in business development.
The “Ъ-Privolzhye editorial board nominated JSC Volga for its large-scale investment program: since 2019, the Company has been heavily investing in production expansion, increasing the Сompany’s energy efficiency, and paper output. Modernization will make it possible to introduce new technologies for paper production and increase containerboard production by 40%.
Igor Ishchenko, General Director of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation, and Elena Kovaleva, correspondent of “Ъ-Privolzhye”, presented the award to Sergey Lomakin, Volga’s Deputy General Director - Director for economics and finance, in the category «For Innovation and Development».
"Our development strategy allowed the Company to successfully pass through the difficult period of the pandemic and continue in the current conditions of turbulence in geopolitics to implement a new priority investment project, aimed at developing the containerboard production - said Sergey Lomakin.- The project, investments in which will amount to about 6.8 billion rubles, includes modernization of paper machine No. 6 and organization of forest harvesting production on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region. And I am especially pleased to note that our efforts aimed at the development of the Company and the Nizhny Novgorod Region, are appreciated by the Government and the business community of the region".
