This year, products of Volga JSC were once again awarded diplomas of laureate and winner of the all-Russian competition “100 Best Products of Russia.” Notebook cover paper (green shade) won a laureate diploma and received the honorary status of “Novelty”, three more product types (low-weight newsprint, standard newsprint and corrugating paper) became diploma winners of the competition.
Quality marks are awarded to products that have passed strict and thorough examination by the expert group. Competition experts evaluate goods quality and safety, as well as the quality of Company work as a whole – introduction of advanced technologies, production process development, compliance with safety standards, labor protection and personnel social support programs.
The high rating demonstrates consumer confidence in Company products, and the Company was granted the two-year right to use the competition logo for advertising and marketing purposes.
In addition, the administration of the “100 Best Products of Russia” program presented the General Director of the Company with the “Excellent Quality” badge of honor who, in turn, decided to hand it over to the Operations Supervisor Nikolai Skvortsov as a recognition of his conscientious work.
This badge is an award given to the best employees and representatives of engineering and technical personnel of companies and organizations whose products have become “laureates” and “diploma winners” of the program competition.
Nikolai Skvortsov has been with the Company for over 22 years and during this time he has covered a long way from a senior foreman of a wood pulp shop shift to an operations supervisor. Over the years of his work for the Company, he has repeatedly confirmed his professionalism and high qualifications. With his active participation, equipment is being upgraded at production facilities and large-scale investment projects are being implemented. Implementation of one of the largest projects is currently being completed: MM-500 recycled pulp production line has been put into operation, in order to increase the production volumes of Company’s new promising products – light and ultra-light liners; launch of re-oriented machine No. 6 is scheduled for December.
“The project to modernize the mill’s production capacities started for me back in 2020, before the launch of new TMP-180 line, when a team had been founded under the leadership of the General Director to study promising cardboard and paper products, which did a tremendous job of conducting conceptual research,” Nikolai Skvortsov said. – This work included acquisition of practical data based on the pilot production results from available semi-finished products, selection of optimum set of process equipment, pre-design research and design work that made it possible to mount equipment in conditions of existing industry, without interrupting the production process on existing paper-making machines. A number of technical solutions applied are innovative for the sector and patented. Invaluable support in controlling the quality of manufactured products, forecasting the quality of new products, conducting laboratory research and pilot development is provided by the OLT and K service led by S.A. Guryleva. By the time of re-oriented PMM6 launch, we updated laboratory and technical equipment in newly created recycled pulp laboratory and paper laboratory. To sum up, I’d like to note that the “Excellent Quality” badge was deservedly awarded to the entire production team of paper makers and to each employee who contributes to production development.
