Three JSC Volga products were included in the list of “100 best goods in Russia” in 2020

According to the results of the Federal stage of the all-Russian competition “100 best goods in Russia”, low-mass newsprint (TU 17.12.11-003-00279278-2004) under the brand of JSC Volga became a prize winner. For the first time this year, two other products of JSC Volga also became prize winners of the competition: paper for flat layers of corrugated cardboard (TU 17.12.72-011-00279278-2020) and uncoated bulky paper used for printing and other graphic purposes (TU 17.12.14-010-00279278- 2020).

As previously reported, in September of this year, JSC Volga products became laureates of the contest “Nizhny Novgorod quality mark” and were allowed to participate the Federal stage of the competition “100 best goods in Russia”.

The competitive advantages of low-mass newsprint are the extra whiteness, the increased number of linear meters in a roll and the reduced number of paper breaks during printing. The use of this type of paper allows printing houses and publishers to reduce the cost of paper, which increases the competitiveness of Volga paper in the international market.

Made from 100% thermo-mechanical pulp, paper for flat layers of corrugated cardboard under the JSC Volga brand is used for the production of flat layers of corrugated cardboard. Advantages of thin paper for flat layers of corrugated cardboard made of 100% thermo-mechanical pulp are the reduction of the multi-layer corrugated cardboard size almost without compromising their strength.

Uncoated bulky paper under the JSC Volga brand is designed for printing illustrative and textual publications or other graphic purposes. It comes in both white and cream coloring. The use of 100% TMP as raw material and the production technology allowed to increase the bulkiness of paper, which gives ordinary paper a more “expensive” look. It is especially appreciated by the manufacturers of book products and educational-methodical notebooks.

All the three products became the prize winners in the category “Industrial and technical goods”. The victory in the competition grants JSC Volga the right to put the “100 best goods in Russia” logo on its production for the next two years.

It is not the first time that JSC Volga participates in the competition and gets included in the list of winners. For instance, last year newsprint made from 100% thermo-mechanical pulp (GОSТ 6445-74) and corrugating paper (TY 17.12.72-007-00279278-2019) became the prize winners of the all-Russian competition “100 best products in Russia”.
